Structure 409, other masonry structure
About this Structure
West-central portion of site.
North-central portion of Block 400; constructed in the post abandonment fill of Structure 408.
It is inferred that this structure was dry-laid, contained no prepared surface or features, and was unroofed; the structure use is unknown. Members of the Native American Advisory Team interpreted structures like Structure 409 as a shrine.
Based on data collected from other shrines at Shields Pueblo, Structure 409 was most likely abandoned immediately prior to regional abandonment (late Pueblo III period).
Unknown; excavated by Colorado Mountain College.
