Structure 1209, subterranean structure, type unknown
About this Structure
Northwestern portion of site.
East-central portion of Block 1200; within 2-x-2-m unit 603N 363E.
It is unknown how Structure 1209 functioned because only a small portion of the floor was exposed. The bell-shape construction of the structure indicates that it was used for storage.
Based on pottery types present in the roof sediments, this structure was abandoned during the Pueblo III period. The structure roof was most likely dismantled and collapsed on to the floor to cover Human Remains Occurrence 7.
Natural sediments and some cultural fill washed into the depression left by Structure 1209. The upper portions of postabandonment fill were disturbed by plowing.
