Structure 308, masonry surface structure
About this Structure
At base of north face of butte.
4 m grid southwest of Structure 302.
The three grinding features indicate that this room was used, at least in part, for food processing or meal preparation. These features were later filled and covered with plaster. A similar grinding feature, also filled and covered with plaster, was present in Structure 119, south of the butte.
This room was abandoned before occupation of the village ended; the considerable volume of subfloor construction material was removed for use elsewhere in the village. The roof might also have been removed. The room was then used for deposition of refuse.
Colluvial and alluvial material came down from Structure 307, on the ledge above, in a series of depositional and erosional events.
