Structure 906, earth-walled pit structure
About this Structure
North-central portion of site.
East-central portion of Nonstructure 901; within 1-x-1-m unit 547N 542E.
Structure 906 is similar to other pit structures occupied during the Late Pueblo II period and was most likely used in a combination of domestic and ritual activities. The presence of pottery on the floor supports a domestic use of Structure 906.
Primary beams were recycled from the structure roof before the secondary beams and other construction elements were collapsed on to the floor surface.
Natural sediments accumulated above Nonstructure 901 midden deposits.
