Structure 115, subterranean kiva
About this Structure
Central portion of site.
Northeastern portion of Architectural Block 100; east of Structure 114; 501.9N 526.1E.
Structure 115 is similar to other kivas occupied during the Pueblo III period and was most likely used in a combination of domestic and ritual activities. The presence of sherds on the floor surface indicates a domestic use of the structure.
The primary roof beams and some of the bench masonry were recycled at abandonment. It is possible that Structure 115 had a masonry upper lining wall that was also recycled. Structure 115 was abandoned in the Early Pueblo III period.
Natural wind and water sediments covered Nonstructure 139 deposits.
