Nonstructure 505, extramural surface
About this Nonstructure
Central part of the site.
Just north of the roomblock in Architectural Block 500.
Encountered during excavations to expose the outside face of the north wall of the roomblock.
Outdoor use surface assciated with the construction and use of Structure 508.
Use of this surface ended when Structure 508 was abandoned.
Surface was covered by naturally deposited sediment or construction fill associated with the construction of the roomblock in Architectural Block 500.
Dating of Construction
Surface was not constructed--was a use surface only. This surface was used sometime after A.D. 1100; this inference is based on the presence of Pueblo III White Painted sherds, and a Mesa Verde Corrugated jar below this surface.
