Nonstructure 1.12-N, extramural surface
About this Nonstructure
Lower west side; base of talus slope near canyon bottom.
Near modern ground surface in Segment 6 (EU 37); rests near top of Nonstructure 1.11-N and above Nonstructures 1.13-N, 1.14-N, and 1.15-N.
Part of Nonstructure 1-N testing; see Nonstructure 1-N and associated EU for description and explanation of testing strategy.
Extramural surface associated with the construction of a wall (Feature 11).
Probably abandoned as part of the canyon bottom abandonment.
Dating of Construction
No tree-ring or pottery data. The stratigraphic position of this surface indicates that the surface was used relatively late in the occupation of this area--the surface postdates a cultural deposit (Nonstructure 1.11-N) and an earlier, extramural surface (Nonstructure 1.13-N).
Dating of Remodeling
No evidence of remodeling.
Dating of Abandonment
Probably abandoned when the canyon bottom was abandoned since it is believed to be one of the latest surfaces in the area.
Dating of Midden
Dating of Reuse
No evidence of reuse.
