Structure 1507, masonry surface structure

STRUCTURE DATING

Abandonment
Structure contains a series of prepared surfaces, possible use surfaces, and intentional deposits of constructional fill and secondary refuse. It is thus difficult to specify at what point in this series of events the room was "abandoned." In any event, final abandonment probably occurred sometime after A.D. 1270 (the latest tree-ring date for the block).
Construction
No tree-ring dates for this structure. However, structurally, this room appears to have been built around the same time as the other bi-wall rooms in the D-shaped structure, and the latest date for roof fall in the bi-wall rooms is A.D. 1260r, from Structure 1503. It is probable that the bi-wall rooms were built around or after A.D. 1260.
Remodeling
This structure appears to contain at least two prepared surfaces; there are no means by which to date the later surface.
Reuse
Structure contains a series of prepared surfaces, possible use surfaces, and intentional deposits of constructional fill and secondary refuse. It is a matter of interpretation as to whether these deposits are evidence of a long period of continued use or are evidence of "reuse." In any case, these events probably occurred sometime after A.D. 1260.
