Structure 1209, masonry surface structure

Was probably abandoned sometime after A.D. 1265.
No tree-ring dates for this structure; however, the walls of this room are tied to walls of other rooms and to a wall that encloses the northwest portion of Structure 1206 (kiva). This string of tied walls abuts Structures 1217/1205, which, on the basis of tree-ring dates, are inferred to have been constructed in A.D. 1260. Structure 1206 (kiva) and corner rooms were constructed after Structure 1209; tree-ring dates from the kiva and Structure 1219 (corner room) suggest that these structures were built in either A.D. 1262 or 1265. Thus, it is reasonable to infer that Structure 1209 was constructed after A.D. 1260, probably around the same time the kiva was constructed, around 1262-1265.
