Structure 1006, masonry surface structure

Appears to have been abandoned long before the kiva suite was abandoned, which was sometime after A.D. 1266. Early abandonment is indicated by strata of refuse and clean fill beneath wall collapse debris, and also the absence of a roof fall layer.
No tree-ring dates for this structure. A timber with a cutting date of A.D. 1266 was recovered from trash below the lowermost courtyard surface (Nonstructure 1000) outside Structure 1006. That layer of trash is thought to predate Structure 1006 stratigraphically, which would indicate that this room was built sometime after 1266. This structure was built after the site enclosing wall, Structure 1004 (kiva), and Structure 1005, and was built at the same time as Structure 1007 adjacent to the east.
No evidence of remodeling.
No evidence of reuse.
