Roof Description

A ledge or "inset" in the west wall was inferred in the field to indicate a break between lower and upper stories; if indeed there were two stories, then the roof/ceiling beams of the lower story (Structure 1505) presumably would have rested on this ledge. In addition, the field notes describe two beam stubs "nearly in place" directly below the level of the ledge (one beam in the east wall, one in the west). It should be noted, however, that the stratum that yielded the two beam fragments had been thoroughly disturbed by pothunters.
